About The Owners

Entrepreneurs Rebecca Strong and Bob Jacobson met in the fall of 2016. Both finding their soul mate
in each other, they married in August of 2019. Together they created an art center from a house built in 1906 belonging to the Carlson family that is still owned by the 3rd generation. Rebecca’s dream was to have a place to exercise multiple art forms. She believes art is the vein where the soul can be fully expressed and healed. The practice of making art or collecting it can’t help but change a life, even if just for a moment or for the rest of a life. Bob is currently a Realtor with Keller-Williams in the Skagit Valley and San Juan Islands. Together they want to present The Lux as a platform for the varied art culture and art history that has resided in the Skagit Valley since the 1930’s for all artists and those undiscovered.

As if they aren’t busy enough, they have created La Conner Tea Co, a fair trade, whole leaf, luxury blend, Tea Company. A self serve tea bar for complimentary tea tasting is in the gallery here at The LUX. Check our operating hours and come have a cup of Skagit Valley Blend or any of our 24 blends in an artful atmosphere.
